Our Range of Motion Sensor Alarms

Motion sensors are an essential component of any modern security system as they are able to monitor large spaces by detecting heat and/or movement and notify you of any uninvited guests!

Passive Infrared Sensors (PIR) are very popular because they are energy efficient, versatile and relatively easy to install.

These sensors work by detecting heat changes in the area they’re monitoring. They’re equipped with a thin layer of pyroelectric material and a sensor which reacts to IR radiation (or changes in temperature).

PIR sensors are very popular because they can be programmed to only activate at certain heat levels, which makes them child and pet-friendly. They are also very versatile and can be used to trigger your alarm audibly or silently.

To get the best of PIR sensors, it’s important to ensure they are installed correctly as they offer line-of-sight protection so this could limit their detection range if there are obstacles in the way.

Some of our passive infrared sensors (PIR) can be adjusted to ignore pets who are below a certain weight or height. This can be very useful in preventing false alarms.

At Security Alarm Services we offer a comprehensive range of security solutions and are always available to discuss your requirements with you.
